About the area

The small town of Oxford, Iowa, is about 6 miles northwest of our house. It’s mainly residential but has two cool antique shops. If you want to grab lunch or dinner, your best bet is Tiffin, to the east. We like Jon’s Ice Cream and Casa Tequila.

Other nearby stuff to do:
  • Walk around Kent Park, of course! Beauty abounds. There’s a lake and lots of trails for wandering, jogging, biking, dog-walking, etc.
  • Go to Stacie’s Greenhouse & Flower Shop for a plant or bouquet (3691 James Ave. SW, Oxford, IA).
  • If you’re planning your trip ahead of time, check out Land Alliance Farm, Folk School, and Retreat Center‘s class and cafe offerings (1259 Rohret Rd SW, Oxford, IA).
  • Pick lavender and peruse the shop at Calyx Creek Lavender Farm (1722 255th St. NW, Oxford, IA). Overnight lodging available.
  • Stop by the farm store at Connorridge Farms for homemade cheese, pasture-raised eggs, fruit, and veggies (2097 IWV Rd. SW, Oxford).
  • Amana and Williamsburg are about 20 minutes west of our farm, and both have plenty of charming shops and cafes, including our friends’ shop, Four Winds Farm Apothecary!

There are SO MANY cool places to visit in rural Oxford!
